16th Annual Miracle Walk – Saturday, October 16, 2016, 9:00 am, in Verona Park, Verona, NJ

Miracle Walk is an annual walk-a-thon that generates vital financial support for the Saint Barnabas Medical Center NICU. Polaris Partner, Marc Eigner will be joined by his family, including his two sons, Brandon & Brendon, who spent the first seven weeks of their lives at St. Barnabas NICU. Hundreds  from  the surrounding communities will participate.

Miracle Walk was created by a family in gratitude for the care their daughter received during a three-month stay in the Saint Barnabas Medical Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Since its inception, more than $5 million has been raised to support this highly specialized unit which provides the most advanced care for premature and ill newborns.

“That money is much needed”, explains Shyan Sun, M.D., medical director of the NICU. “State-of-the-art technology can make the difference between a successful outcome and failure. All of these new technologies are very expensive,” Dr. Sun says. “The funds from the Miracle Walk help us acquire some of this super high-tech equipment so we can provide gentle care for our most fragile babies.”

“The Saint Barnabas NICU is one of the most highly rated units having one of the best survival rates in the country. For all the complexity of the work, the medical and health care professionals treat everyone like family,” says Miracle Walk founder Hayley Hirschmann.

Polaris invites you to join the walk on October 16th. Individuals may join the team and walk with the Eigner family, sponsor, or make a donation. The walk kicks off with lots of family-friendly activities, refreshments and entertainment including a DJ, face painters, balloon artists, characters and more.
